When you laugh or smile, it triggers the part of your brain that releases those gooood, happy chemicals into the body like endorphins and serotonin. We understand the importance in feeling confident in your smile, and we are certain that our Smile Powder will have you boldly grinning from ear-to-ear! This baking soda base formula is delightfully effervescent, clean and bright. It scrubs away stains old and new, but is nonabrasive - your enamel is safe!

Most toothpastes contain a label that alerts the consumer to call poison control if the toothpaste is swallowed (seriously). But our ingredients are naturally sourced, and while we wouldn't recommend eating it, you can rest assured that no icky toxins will get into your system upon brushing.

This tooth powder is 100% vegan, all natural, effective, & cruelty-free!

    Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)

Most commonly referred to as "baking soda," sodium bicarbonate is a soft mineral that has been long appreciated for its abilities to both clean and whiten teeth. It lifts surface stains due to its mildly abrasive characteristics, but leaves your pearly whites unharmed. The impressively high alkalinity of sodium bicarbonate also battles the acids in the mouth that cause tooth decay.

    Tartaric Acid

Tartaric acid is an antioxidant that shows up in edible plants all over the place: in grapes, bananas, pineapples and tamarind, to name a few. It is commonly used along in foods and toothpastes as a leavening agent.

    Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate

As indicated by its scientific name, dicalcium phosphate dihydtate is full of calcium, which is necessary to the survival of healthy bones and teeth. It is an excellent tooth polish, and also gets rid of tartar, thereby reducing the odds of tooth decay!

    Magnesium Carbonate

Magnesium Carbonate is similar to sodium bicarbonate in its capability to remove stains and plaque. It, too, is a mild abrasive - but just enough to scrub-a-dub-dub the icky debris from your teeth, without causing any damage to the enamel.

    Hydrated Silica

Hydrated silica is found all throughout nature, especially in beautiful crystals such as the mystical opal and quartz. In oral hygiene products, hydrated silica is utilized most for its ability to gently scuff away plaque.

    Spearmint Oil

The benefits of essential oils in toothpaste go far beyond just a tingly, refreshing taste. Spearmint oil also has major anti-bacterial properties that create a healthy environment inside the mouth. Also, if there is any discomfort in your mouth (tongue, gums, or inside the cheeks or lips), spearmint oil is known to treat pain.

    Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil contributes to the bright and lively flavor profile of our unmatchable smile tooth powder, but is also highly functional to your oral health. The antimicrobial qualities of peppermint oil freshens your breath naturally. Peppermint oil has also been shown to reduce cavities more than the chemicals in harsh mouthwashes. Oh, and if you're experiencing any soreness in your gums, the peppermint might just have you covered.

    Sea Salt

Because of its commonplace usages and its presence in nearly every kitchen worldwide, sea salt is often considered a super basic element. On the contrary, sea salt is often overlooked for its trace amounts of many rich minerals including zinc, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and more! When used in toothpaste, sea salt breaks down plaque, has whitening characteristics, and is an incredible cleanser.

    Anise Oil

Anise oil, derived from the perennial herb pimpinella anisum, has the distinct yet mild taste of sweet licorice. Besides being a sought-after flavor, anise oil is also an antiseptic and has been determined to be beneficial to oral health. It also encourages the remineralization necessary to a healthy mouth.

    Myrrh Resin Extract

The sap of the commiphora myrrha tree produces myrrh resin, which can be found in both Africa and the Middle East. It is both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, boasting massive benefits when used in oral hygiene, such as reduction of inflammation, prevention of mouth ulcers, and treatment of gingivitis. Makes your breath smell great, too!

    Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate

Don't let the long, hard-to-pronounce name scare you! Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is simply a surfactant derived from coconuts, and acts as a foaming agent for that super satisfying brusha-brusha sensation.

    Zinc Gluconate

The addition of zinc gluconate to this formula is due to its manifold oral benefits. It is known to cut down on the amount of plaque in your mouth, while inhibiting calculus formation. It has been shown to be effective in the reduction of halitosis and gingivitis, as well, keeping your mouth bright and fresh all day long!

    Frankincense

Frankincense is a fragrant, hardened sap from the Boswellia genus trees of Africa and Arabia. It is well-known for its ceremonial uses as an incense (typically burnt along with myrrh), so it may surprise you to learn that frankincense is potentially quite effective in fighting cavities, as well!

    Monk Fruit

Monk fruit, also known as luo han guo, has been long used in traditional Chinese medicine, and is a phenomenon in the world of natural sweeteners. Even with its delicious sweetness, monk fruit has not been shown to contribute to tooth decay, making it the perfect sweetener for a yummy toothpaste.

    Ethyl Lauoyl Arginate

Ethyl lauroyl arginate is a white powder primarily composed of salts, and is known to be effective in the management of gum disease.

    Streptococcus Salivarius (Oral Probiotic)

Despite its formidable name, streptococcus salivarius is neither a virus nor a magical incantation. In fact, following childbirth, s. salivarius is a 'good bacteria' that naturally collects in the mouth and respiratory system of the newborn, protecting it from harmful bacteria. In dental products, it does the same, competing with 'bad bacteria'. Therefore, s. salivarius is considered an oral probiotic! Just don't try saying it 5 times fast...
