Fun fact: Cordyceps are entomopathogenic fungi – not technically a mushroom, since, in the wild, they grow as parasites on insects! In ancient China, Cordyceps were used as both a nutritional super food and a tonic drink among the affluent. Ancient Chinese and Tibetan cultures have also used Cordyceps for thousands of years to help debilitated patients recover from ailments. Cordyceps had a moment in the spotlight in 1993 when the Chinese female Olympic team attributed their record-breaking run to a diet supplemented by Cordyceps. Now, many athletes use Cordyceps to support vitality and performance.
