“Hot Throw” refers to the amount of fragrance and/or essential oils that are thrown into the air while burning. “Cold Throw” refers to the amount of fragrance created while the candle is unlit.
So when we say that the candle has “Great Throw” we mean that the scent is great whether lit or not.
As with all candles, lit BōKU® Immune Candles should not be left unattended with children or pets due to safety hazards.
With the exception of medical wellness centers and the world’s finest spa resorts, BōKU® products are only available online, shipped directly to consumer’s homes.
We specifically avoided the use of Paraffin wax due to the many dangers of burning such candles in your home. Unfortunately, most people are unaware of what paraffin wax really is. The strong scents typically accompanied with Paraffin wax candles can often be alluring…but is that worth burning petroleum leftovers in your home? Yes, that’s right. Paraffin wax is nothing but a bi-product of the refining process to make gasoline. (Just add some industrial strength bleach and some other ingredients and presto!) As you can probably imagine, burning a bi-product of petroleum is not in the best interest of your health and that of your loved ones. Did you know Paraffin wax emits 11 known carcinogens while burning? These include benzene, toluene, and formaldehyde (also a known respiratory irritant). Burning paraffin wax in your home exponentially decreases the air quality of our homes, and increases toxins going into our lungs.
Yes! The BōKU® Immune Candle is proudly manufactured in America!
This is referred to as “tunneling.” If you don’t allow the wax to pool on the first burn of your Immune candle (or any candle), you may experience “tunneling.” This means the wax simply burns down the center of the candle, leaving wax on the side of the jar. It is essential to let the candle burn upon first lighting for three hours or until a complete melt pool is established to the edge of the candle container.
The wicks are made from textile grade organic cotton.
The Castor comes from the castor oil plant, Ricinus communis, a species of flowering plant in the spurge family. NOT FROM BEAVERS!
The burn time for the 4 oz. Immune Candle is estimated at 20 to 24 hours.
The 20 oz. Immune Cannon will burn for 100 hours (8 days, 8 hours). It is imperative to allow the immune candle to burn for a minimum of 3 hours upon first lighting, or until the melt pool reaches the edge of the candle container. This complete melt pool will provide maximum surface area of the essential oils ensuring optimal “hot throw” and burn time.
